UPGRADING FROM V.1.5: --------------------- Nothing needs to be done, no changes were made to the databse format. UPGRADING FROM V.1.0 --------------------- If you had an old v.1.0 database from the first XRolyPoly release, and this is your first time running v.1.5, the program will search for your old database, and if found, present you with a few choices. You can proceed to convert the old database, or if you choose not to, a blank database in the new v.1.5 format will be created. If you want to remove the old database after converting to the new format, click on the "Remove old database" button. IMPORTANT: The old database will ONLY be removed if and only if you also checked the "Convert old database" box, it will NOT be removed if you didn't check this box, NO MATTER what the setting for the "Remove old database" button is. SOME POTENTIAL QUESTIONS (AND ANSWERS): ---------------------------------------- "I accidentally said that I didn't want to convert the old database, but I really meant to. Now when the program starts up it doesn't ask me anymore if I want to upgrade my old databse. How can I upgrade my old one?" Answer: Remove the file: $HOME/.gnome/XRolyPoly When XRP starts up, it checks to see if that file exists. If not, it knows you haven't run it yet and then proceeds to check if your old database file exists as well. If so, then you will get the prompt box. "Why is the search button greyed out?" Answer: It's not yet implemented, it will be in the next release.
